Cost of Living Advocacy Service

We provide a free independent general advocacy service for deaf women living in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Our aim is to empower you to express your views, wishes and feelings about important situations, decisions and issues affecting your life.

Whether you’re facing:

  • housing issues,
  • issues with benefits appeals or tribunals
  • problems with social care and health needs
  • discrimination
  • banking issues
  • rent arrears
  • debts and cost of living

Our Advocates are here to support you when you feel you are not being fully involved in your situation or listened to.

What We Offer

Our Advocates can support and empower you to:

  • Express your views and wishes about your situation
  • Understand and explore your rights, choices and options
  • Prepare for and attend meetings and appointments
  • Be involved in decisions about your life
  • Access relevant services, information and support

We offer general advocacy for a range of issues and we can signpost you to other services if we cannot support you.

This service is funded by The National Community Lottery Fund distributed by the Smallwood Trust.
