Work and Volunteer with us

We always need volunteers to help us run our activities and workshops. Find out more about volunteering opportunities and work opportunities.

Deaf-initely Women is supported by deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing volunteers. Many of the activities would not be possible without our volunteers.

Volunteer with us!

There are so many ways you can help deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing women in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Here are some examples, you could:

  • share your experiences or knowledge with other deaf women in a group or one to one.
  • befriend other deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing women
  • provide admin support in our office
  • help with home visits
  • help our staff and events
  • help with fundraising

We always need help spreading the word about Deaf-initely women in the local community.
We also need you to raise deaf awareness generally.

Volunteers & Training Co-ordinator

£14,141 for 17.5 hours a week post, fixed term until 28.2.2027.

Deaf-initely Women is looking to recruit a deaf or deafblind woman to work as a Volunteers & Training Co-ordinator to recruit, train and supervise volunteers to join our dynamic and exciting team.

This vacancy is open to deaf and deafblind women only (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).

  • Deadline: Monday 20th January 2025, 12 noon.
  • Interviews: Friday 31st January 2025. Please note that the date cannot be rearranged.
