Inspirational deaf woman

Apr 3, 2023

It was a few years ago that Laura Driver underwent a cochlear implant. With a career and life filled with adventure, she is inspirational!

‘’Deaf since birth, I underwent a cochlear implant operation in 2015 after my hearing deteriorated which truly transformed my life. And from this, I then moved down south to work in Digital Marketing, followed by securing a Digital PR contract working in New Zealand for a few months. It was incredible to be working internationally on the other side of the world and be skydiving and bungee-jumping in the land of adventure sports!

I now work in the Deaf sector leading on the Communications and Marketing for a national charity, as well as leading on Provider Assurance as a Media and Campaigns Officer for the NHS. Being deaf also didn’t stop me from holding three degrees which I now have: A BA degree in Linguistics, a Master’s in Public Relations, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Communications!’’ Laura Driver
