This new leaflet ‘Get Clever with Home Security’ is packed with useful information to help you to stay safe and protect your home from crime. Keeping people safe is a fundamental part of my Police and Crime Plan.
That’s why I am pleased to work in partnership with Deaf-initely Women and support the organisation’s wider work helping deaf and hard of hearing women across Derby and Derbyshire. Crime and the fear of crime can have a significant impact on our lives and mental wellbeing and as Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire I am committed to boosting projects that help to reassure people and increase public confidence.
Deaf-initely Women has listened very carefully to deaf and hard of hearing women about their experiences of living alone and the increased sense of vulnerability or isolation many feel as a result of their hearing loss. This leaflet is designed to provide women – and all members of the deaf community – with practical advice and information to reduce the risk of crime. We hope you find the information useful but there are organisations that can help if you require further support and advice and these are listed at the back.
