We are delighted to tell you that we have been successful in our funding bid.
We have been awarded funding for a ‘Sexual Health Service for deaf and hard of hearing women in Derby and Derbyshire’ project that will start from April 2021. This will pay for a part-time Sexual and Reproductive Health Community Worker, working two days a week, whose job is to ensure that deaf women can access mainstream sexual and reproductive health services including HIV. This also includes supporting our mainstream health services in provision of their services and information to deaf women.
The Community Health worker will work with many deaf and hard of hearing women throughout Derby and Derbyshire. She will educate and improve deaf and hard of hearing women’s knowledge, awareness and management of their own sexual and reproductive health.
