BSL Bill: Houses of Parliament

Jan 27, 2022

I am asking you for your support, possibly even your attendance, tomorrow in London for the forwarding of the BSL Bill for the second reading in Parliament by the Member of Parliament, Rosie Cooper.  Both of Rosie Cooper’s parents were Deaf.

We marched in London in 2003 (I was there with many others) and we achieved recognition of BSL in its own right but, still in 2022, we have no legal status.  It is hoped that the second reading will be passed to move forward in the granting of legal status.

People are to gather from 11.15 a.m. in Parliament Square for 11.30 – 2.30 p.m.

Please support this – send emails to the BDA giving your support.  Also, get in touch with your local Member of Parliament to let them know this is happening.

Thank you and hope you have a good weekend.
